Sometimes Tesco come up with a really interesting little gadget. They
advertised the Technika "Viewbox" at a pretty nice price and I thought I
would take advantage of late night shopping and go fetch one. The
Viewbox is basically an iPod dock - allowing you to play music and
video's on its 7 inch screen. I thought it might be a good way of
watching some of the gigabytes of video content that I've bought from
iTunes over the last year or so.

I ordered a BlackBerry "Storm" (the 9500) from Vodafone.
Finally out and with a reasonable deal from Vodafone - I decided to buy
out my remaining contract with O2 and get the 9500.

Rant time. How can a major manufacturer like HP make such suck-worthy
printer software? I wasted an hour trying to install my HP Photosmart to
my desktop with the HP software totally unable to locate the printer on
my WiFi network (and all of 4 metres away). The HP wizard was trying
very hard to install unwanted "salesware" though - Print from the
Internet, Buy supplies from our Shop.

I tried installing the printer directly using the standard Windows
feature and Vista installed the printer in less than a minute - and it
works wirelessly just fine. Microsoft 1 - HP Software - 0.
Friday 7th November 2008 Pretec have come up with
the toughest and one of the priciest USB memory sticks to date. Called
the i-Disk Bulletproof at just over £90 its waterproof, fireproof and
car key proof. I think it looks great but I'm not sure my gadget budget
stretches that far - I may have to stick with my Sandisk Cruzer at £9
for the same size disk (4GB).
